Unconventional Mould — Saint-Louis — object, 2023

Saint-Louis set the brief: create an object or sculpture made with your own inventive, unconventional, highly experimental moulds. Make something that surprises yourself and others, and that reflects your idea of usability in your ideal world.

The definition of connection is the state of being related to something or someone else — which, to me, also means dependency to some degree. Each of my moulds represents a different type of connection.

The first shows it through the texture of the fabric, imprinted on the final glass object: the connection of representing another element.

The second displays connection through the knots shaping the glass and manipulating it into a pattern: the connection of shaping another element.

The third is about connection itself. The shape of the glass could not have been created without the two outer elements of the mould. The interior part depends on the exterior parts.
