The Interplay of the Creative and AI
Artificial intelligence is often perceived as a threat that will replace human thought and imagination. But what if it were used instead to harness and generate ideas and images?
This project explores the interplay between software and creativity. The concept lets a designer combine past projects and existing samples — archived images — with prompts, and from them visualise new designs. The method keeps the designer fully in charge and uses AI as a starting point and a tool rather than as an author.
The strength of the strategy shows in the design of a stainless steel side table: it results from archived projects and still preserves the designer's own visual language. In the process, AI turns from an enemy into a creative collaborator.
